Certified Rolfer ® Structural Integration

ERYT-500 Yoga Instructor

My Journey

I earned my degree in Interpersonal Communications from the University of Maine in 1990. In 1994, I trained as a natural foods chef and later traveled to India to study Ayurveda and Ashtanga Yoga. In 1998, I became certified as a Rolfer Structural Integrator and began my private practice in 1999. In 2014, I became an E-RYT 500 yoga instructor and launched a Yoga School focused on Teacher Training and continuing education. I have thousands of hours of training and experience in health and wellness and today, I educate and coach women in midlife in Boulder, Colorado, and offer services online.

My interest in healing led me to study nutrition from both Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, emphasizing seasonal alignment and using whole, organic, nutrient-dense foods in the kitchen. I also explored the medicinal properties of herbs and plants, drawing from Western herbal medicine traditions. My love for cooking has taken me on culinary adventures in Italy, India, and Morocco, where I learned from experts.

I came to my spiritual practice after losing my mother to cancer in 1989. It all began with a yoga class in Montana, where I discovered Hatha Yoga. I then moved to Boulder, Colorado, in 1990, where I landed at the Yoga Workshop with my teacher, Richard Freeman. I have been a spiritual practitioner for over 30 years and am committed to my daily practice of contemplative meditation and yoga.

As a sensitive introvert and empath, embodiment practices have been essential for grounding my spiritual self in today’s fast-paced world. Midlife brought its own set of challenges, including my husband’s health crisis and my son’s struggles with substance abuse and mental health. These challenges coincided with my transition into menopause, a time of personal shifts and the onset of Impostor Syndrome. Through this, I learned to speak up for myself, set boundaries, and reclaim my power and autonomy.

Today, I am passionate about supporting women to discover their most authentic selves during the midlife passage. My mission is to empower women to find their autonomy and live a creative life where they can thrive in the later years after caregiving for others. helping them prioritize self-care and embrace the second half of life with grace and confidence.

My own challenges have shaped my approach to supporting women.

During my midlife journey, I became deeply focused on ensuring my family’s happiness, especially my teenage son’s. In prioritizing his contentment, I neglected to set clear boundaries. Over time, without these limits, small oversteps turned into bigger challenges, leading to stress in our family. I realized that by not respecting my own limits, I allowed tension to grow. This experience taught me that setting boundaries is not selfish but essential for healthy, balanced relationships. Prioritizing my well-being allowed me to better support my son and reclaim my power, fostering more fulfilling relationships at home and work.

I’m passionate about creating a safe, compassionate space for women to explore changes, prioritize their well-being, and tap into their inner strength.
