About Alison

Hi,

I’m Alison Litchfield

For more than 30 years, I’ve been helping people reconnect with their bodies as a source of healing, resilience, and self-understanding.

I didn’t come to this work because I had life figured out. Like many of the people I support today, I came to it through challenge, loss, and a search for something deeper.

I grew up in New York and lost my mother to cancer when I was 21 years old. Her death changed the course of my life. In the years that followed, yoga and time spent in nature became places of refuge and discovery. They helped me connect with a sense of steadiness and meaning that I struggled to find elsewhere.

What began as a personal practice eventually became a vocation. Over the past three decades, I have studied and taught yoga, Structural Integration (Rolfing®), movement, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed practices, women’s health, and embodied approaches to healing. Throughout that journey, I discovered that lasting change happens not only through insight, but through our ability to embody what we learn.

While my professional life was growing, my personal life brought its own lessons. Like many women, I spent years caring for others and building a life centered around family. I became skilled at holding things together, putting my own needs aside, and finding purpose in being needed.

Then life asked more of me.

My husband’s health collapsed. My son struggled with addiction. The challenges facing my family forced me to confront patterns of overgiving, people-pleasing, and self-sacrifice that I had carried for much of my life.

One of the most important lessons I learned was that I could not live other people’s lives for them. I could love them, support them, and walk beside them—but I could not save them.

That realization changed everything.

Midlife became an opportunity to reconnect with myself beyond the roles I had been playing for everyone else. It invited me to listen more closely to my body, trust my own voice, and create a life that felt more authentic, sustainable, and aligned with my values.

Today, I help others navigate life’s transitions with greater clarity, resilience, and self-trust. Whether someone is facing menopause, an empty nest, recovery, burnout, chronic stress, pain, or a desire for deeper purpose, my goal is to help them reconnect with themselves through the wisdom of the body.

My work integrates nervous system regulation, embodiment practices, yoga, mentoring, Structural Integration, and nature-based wisdom to support meaningful and lasting change.

I believe that healing does not require us to become someone new. Often, it asks us to return to the parts of ourselves that have been waiting patiently for our attention all along.

She traveled to Mysore, India (1997) to study Ashtanga Yoga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, deepening her understanding of traditional practice and philosophy.
