Train with Alison, practitioner of over 30 years, bestselling author, Certified Rolfer®, and an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher. She integrates principles of structural integration, fascia-informed movement, and somatic awareness to support nervous system health and a grounded, embodied presence.
100-hour training included. Most 200-hour trainings teach people how to teach yoga. The wisdom years ask different questions than the achievement years. This women’s embodiment teacher training teaches you how to become the woman who naturally leads—from her own embodied seat.
Designed specifically for women in midlife, menopause and beyond who are ready to deepen their relationship with their bodies, their breath, and their inner authority.
This isn’t primarily professional training.
It’s education for the second half of life.
It is an invitation to return to your body as teacher.
What makes this training distinctive is its integration of somatic education, trauma-informed practices, structural integration principles, and yogic principles that apply to our life experiences.
Your Path to Teaching Yoga
Becoming a yoga instructor in Colorado begins with completing a 200-hour yoga teacher training at a Yoga Alliance Registered School (RYS). Upon completion, you’re eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200, which is recognized by most yoga studios and employers.
Most training programs recommend 6-12 months of regular yoga practice before applying, though this isn’t a strict requirement.
Start with the foundations of the 100-hour training, or go for the full 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification.
Engage fully in the training, which includes practice teaching, anatomy study, philosophy, and methodology.
After graduation, apply for RYT 200 registration (optional but recommended for employment).
Start with community classes, substitute teaching, or assisting established teachers while building confidence.
Many teachers pursue continuing education, specialty trainings, and eventually the 300-hour advanced training to become RYT 500.
Colorado has no state licensure requirement for yoga teachers, making Yoga Alliance registration the primary credential employers seek.
The investment for the Breathe 100-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is $2100
The 200-Hour Embodied Leadership Training is $3500
This is an intentionally small, boutique training, limited to just 8–10 women, allowing for a level of depth, personalization, and support that is rarely found in larger programs. The real value isn’t just in the certification—it’s in the quality of education, the mentorship you receive, and the teaching philosophy you’ll carry into your work with students.

You don’t need to be able to do advanced poses. You don’t need to be “yoga body” perfect. You need curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to explore your own edges—physical, emotional, and intellectual. This training welcomes people of all ages, body types, and backgrounds.
If you’re drawn to teaching that honors individual bodies, nervous systems, and life circumstances—rather than one-size-fits-all instruction—this training will resonate with you.
Complete your application and interview. Begin pre-training reading (yoga philosophy texts and anatomy basics). Set up your space for learning, whether you’re attending in-person, online, or a hybrid format.
Expect immersive learning that balances study, practice, and teaching experience. Days typically include asana practice, lectures, small group work, practice teaching, and discussion. You’ll be challenged intellectually, physically, and emotionally—in the best way.
The somatic component means you’ll be learning through your body, not just your mind. Expect to notice patterns, shift long-held tension, and develop new awareness of how you move and hold yourself. This isn’t just teacher training—it’s transformation.
You’ll complete your Yoga Alliance application (if desired), receive ongoing mentorship as you begin teaching, and have access to a community of fellow graduates. Many graduates continue with continuing education workshops and eventually pursue the 300-hour advanced training.
$2,900 early bird, $2,500 for members
Early bird discounts are available for advance registration. Package pricing is available if you register for multiple workshops. Studio owners: inquire about bringing workshops to your location for your teaching team.
Registration is limited to ensure hands-on learning and personalized attention. Spaces fill quickly—register early to secure your spot.
A 200-hour yoga teacher training can be completed in various formats: intensive programs over 3-4 weeks, weekend formats spread over several months, or weeknight/weekend combinations over 6-9 months. The total training time is 200 contact hours, regardless of format. Many students prefer longer formats that allow time for integration between sessions, while others thrive in immersive intensive experiences.
The average age of yoga teachers in the US is 37 years old, with significant diversity across age ranges. According to industry data, 40% of yoga teachers are over 40 years old, and many people successfully begin teaching in midlife or beyond. Yoga teaching welcomes career changers, midlife purpose-seekers, and lifelong learners of all ages. Experience and embodied wisdom often make for exceptional teachers.
Absolutely not. Many of the most grounded, effective yoga teachers begin training in their 40s, 50s, and beyond. Midlife brings lived experience, body awareness, and often a deeper capacity for holding space for others’ struggles. Older teachers bring authenticity and relatability that younger students often seek. Your age is an asset, not a barrier—especially in a training that honors somatic awareness and individual embodiment over gymnastic performance.
Yoga teaching income varies widely. Most teachers create multiple income streams rather than relying solely on studio classes. Successful yoga teachers often combine group classes, private sessions, workshops, retreats, online offerings, and specialty services. Teachers with additional training in therapeutics, somatic work, or specialty populations can command higher rates. Building a sustainable yoga teaching career takes time, entrepreneurial skills, and often a hybrid approach to income.
Demand for skilled, authentic yoga teachers remains strong, especially for those who can work therapeutically with individual needs, offer trauma-informed practices, and integrate somatic awareness. While the yoga market is competitive, teachers with specialized skills and clear offerings stand out. The growing awareness of nervous system health, somatic healing, and embodied practices creates opportunities for teachers trained in these approaches.
Yes. Colorado does not require state licensure or teaching degrees for yoga instructors. Yoga Alliance registration (RYT 200 or RYT 500) is the primary credential most studios and employers look for, but even this is voluntary. However, completing a recognized training and registering with Yoga Alliance significantly increases your employability and credibility in the field.
